My present work is the result of a search in the field of the pictorial visuality of post-Rennaisance heritage, modelled by the resources of representation in western tradition. I am most interested in the form in which the historical baroque displays its theatrical nature and converges in that silent zone that Italian metaphysics preserve from the times of their late Medieval ancestors. The event, stopped in the course of time, and the unfinished narrative seal the space in which the shadows, marked by light, come together and point to an object of daily irrelevance, frugal and simple, unusual and strange, but also hedonistic and at times ironical. I intend my work to transcend the mere aspect of the naïve belief in the realistic representation and attract the spectator to the space of meditation on the intentions of identifying what is represented with reality through the conventions of identity and similarity in which we have been educated.
